There were months of emails, text messages, phone calls and Zoom calls! All this preparation and it boiled down to ten hours of filming to create a gingerbread masterpiece. It was a process! And now we have created a questionnaire for you to take an “educated” guess on the chaos behind the scenes of Cheryl & Missy’s preparation for Food Network’s Holiday Baking Championship: Gingerbread Showdown. We had fun and we hope you laugh along with us as you see just a glimpse into the experience!

We can’t spill all the secrets but we want to answer some of the questions, at least the fun ones:
What is it like being on set with Carla Hall?
She was super fun and kind. All the judges were amazing and made it a fun experience.
Did you have to cook your own food?
The best part was that we had catered food and unlimited snacks. NO DISHES TO BE CLEANED! It was like a reward.
How much time did you spend preparing?
Just rolling out the gingerbread took at least 24 hours total. Not to mention all the other details we practiced and prepared ahead of time. We came home with our adrenaline running still but completely exhausted.
Who was the production company?
Sonic Dog was the production company. We were on the Discovery Warner Brothers Campus. We walked the halls that some of the HGTV stars have been!
What was the most nerve wracking part?
Nothing too crazy, but being in a new kitchen we didn’t always know where things were so that took time away from doing other things.
Christmas in June? Decorating during the heat of summer had us all thrown off! This was Missy inside Maisie’s room waiting for one of many Zoom calls.
