It’s hard not to fall in love with the magic of gingerbread! For a baker it is not just about the holiday ritual, joyous scents or the whimsy. It is about the unique challenge of designing, baking, creating and ultimately sharing something wonderful with others.
Gingerbread displays might not be for the faint of heart. As any gingerbreader will tell you a lot can go wrong! Large pieces can crack, break or fall. Isomalt windows may not survive. Humidity and fragility can be unpredictable. In the end, a vision may have to be changed or worse - abandoned.
I unexpectedly found that I have a passion for gingerbread. I made my first houses 20 years ago as a part of an “It’s a Wonderful Life” display in a hotel lobby. Over the years and with the help of many talented co-workers, I have had the fun of building every type of display imaginable. From small and charming to large and intricate, I hope you enjoy them all.
