LET’S GET STARTED!
Be sure to check out the picture below these instructions!
Step # 1
You have 12 large popcorn boxes in total. Cut 10 large popcorn boxes like picture #1, below. For now, put your addition 2 large boxes aside to cut later. These 2 boxes will be used for the middle lower stadium seating.
Step # 2
Cut the 10 large popcorn boxes like picture #2, below. Take two of these boxes and assemble them so that you have two opened boxes. Hot glue these two boxes together. They will be the center top row of your stadium! Set them aside.
Step # 3
Using the 8 remaining large popcorn boxes, cut two slits ( 1/2 inch from each side) down the front of each box. Detach this piece at the bottom.
Step # 4
Using picture #4 as a reference, hot glue the front back on to the box by overlapping the cut front on to the flaps that you created on the box. This causes the shape the be “tapered” by being smaller in the front than the back. This will allow your stadium to curve when fully assembled.
Step # 5
Hot glue 4 tapered boxes together, set aside. Hot glue the remaining four tapered boxes together and set aside.
Create the entire back row of your stadium by hot gluing a block of four tapered on the left side of the 2 center boxes that you created in step 2. Now glue the second block of tapered four boxes to the right. You have just created your back row.
You may now tuck the back flap of your box down. This just creates a cute background pinstripe for your stadium snacks.
Now you can repeat this process with your smaller popcorn boxes. Don’t forget you have two large boxes that will be your middle for the lower stadium row.
Step # 6
Use your creativity to make flags for your stadium. You may also make a scoreboard like I did for my stadium. Look on-line for a free download of a scoreboard or create your own message. Mount it on a piece of poster board and then glue it on to your stadium.
Step # 7
Continue with your creativity and cut signs, front and end pieces to your popcorn box stadium. I used a white paint marker to create “team eat,” as well as, the football plays along the front of the stadium. How much you choose to do is entirely up to you!
Step # 8
Cut a piece of green poster board (or foam board) for a football field. Using your paint pen, measure and sketch out a field. Additional ideas… 1.) Bake a batch of brownies, ice in green icing. 2.) Make cupcakes in green and white. 3.) Make a seven layer dip topped with guacamole and use sour cream and olive to finish the field. Whatever you decide to do - get creative and have fun!
Don’t forget…If you build it they will come! Fill your stadium and enjoy!
